Power distribution synthesis for analog and mixed-signal ASICS in rail

Abstract

Rail is a new tool for power distribution that simultaneously synthesizes power bus topology and optimizes sizing to meet DC, AC, and transfer constraints. Experiments demonstrate the critical need to constraint transient behavior and model substrate effects to meet designer-specified performance targets.
