Abstract
ALMA observations of circular (Zeeman) and linear (Goldreich-Kylafis) polarization in spectral lines will significantly enhance sensitivity and angular resolution over currently available data, and should lead to major breakthroughs in our understanding of the role of magnetic fields in the star formation process.
