Polarization-entangled photon generation in a standard polarization-maintaining fiber

Abstract

We demonstrate the generation of polarization-entangled photon pairs in a standard polarization-maintaining fiber using a Sagnac interferometer. This source's spatial mode is well matched to fiber-based quantum information networks.
