Point-to-point free-space quantum cryptography over 1/2 km

Abstract

A point-to-point single photon quantum cryptographic key distribution over a free-space optical path of approximately 475 m under both daylight and nighttime conditions is demonstrated. Within a few months, the daylight range is extended to 2 km. A brief description of the systems is given.
