Plots of modal field distribution in circular dielectric waveguide

Abstract

A method to plot the modal field distributions in the circular dielectric waveguides is discussed in this article. By tracing the directions of fields, closed contours of the fields can be formed in dielectric waveguides. This method is a simple and general approach to plot and visualize the field distributions of the waveguides if the solutions of fields can be found.
