Plasmonic nanotweezers for applications in life sciences

Abstract

Plasmonic nanotweezers using a femtosecond source are demonstrated. Trap stiffness up to 2x that of continuous-wave nanotweezers are measured. We also show simultaneous trapping and two-photon fluorescence of a 1.2-μm diameter microsphere.
