Abstract

Inappropriate cattle grazing practices such as overgrassing in the SE of La Pampa Province (Argentina) produce harmful effects on the quality of natural pastures and on soil properties. Evidence of soil structure degradation in the upper horizons of Petrocalcic Calciustolls are corroborated with high bulk density values, high dry mechanical resistance and low structural stability in comparison with the climax situation.
