Abstract

The phase behavior and concentration fluctuations in suspensions of hard spheres colloids and nonadsorbing polymers under ideal solvent conditions were studied. Different qualitative behavior for the dependence on polymer/particle size asymmetry of gelation and fluid-fluid phase separation boundaries was also observed. The analysis showed that the particle-induced polymer clustering in free volume was sensitive to polymer-polymer interactions.
