Abstract

In this work, we present periodically switched acoustic-filtering RF front-ends using commutated-LC circuits for wireless receivers with widely-tunable RF operation. In addition to reviewing the operation principles and the proof-of-concept demonstrations of our proposed periodically switched acoustic-filtering front-ends, we address two important questions in our design: given a high-IF superheterodyne architecture, a channel bandwidth, and an RF band center frequency, 1) how to choose an IF and 2) what the limit of achievable RF operation range is.
