Abstract
Measurements of the equilibrium thermodynamic properties and collision dynamics an interacting fermi gas composed of 40K atoms in two spin states were made. At low temperatures, strong effects of the quantum statistics on the thermodynamics and collisional dynamics of the gas were observed in the Fermi gas. Pauli blocking was predicted to cause other modifications in the behavior of the gas including changes in the frequency and damping rate of shape oscillations and dipole "scissors mode".
