Abstract

In addition to all of the other ways to get involved that I've discussed in this column, another opportunity for members to get involved is through the Society's affiliations with IEEE Councils. A Council is a group of Societies that have come together to address interdisciplinary topics that don't easily fit into a single Society's field of interest. Councils are a great outlet for us to collaborate across traditional disciplinary boundaries, and to broaden the audience and impact of our work. Councils have their own conferences and symposia around the world, and also produce their own peer-reviewed publications.
