Abstract

The authors consider how flow relates to power system dynamics and steady-state stability. V. A. Venikov et al. (May/June 1985 ) suggested that under certain conditions, the determinant of the load-flow Jacobian provides information about the steady-state stability of a power system. The authors discuss their result and attempt to clarify the conditions stated in that paper concerning the relationship between the determinant of the system dynamic state matrix and the determinant of the load-flow Jacobian.
