Observing hydrogen induced deformations in palladium thin-films

Abstract

We directly measured the nanoscale dynamics of hydrogen induced lattice expansion and deformation of palladium thin films in-situ. These results provide several key material parameters needed for designing high performance optical hydrogen sensors.
