Abstract

This paper discusses some representation issues and challenges involved in object recognition. It is intended as a step toward assessing current object representation schemes and proposing design and evaluation criteria for future ones. The presentation is based on position statements by panelists at the 1994 IEEE Workshop on CAD-Based Vision and the 1994 IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition.
