Abstract

This paper examines the errors associated with the forcing function of the reduced scalar potential. Different methods of evaluating the RHS of the finite element system used to solve the magnetostatic problem using reduced scalar potentials are analyzed. The sources of errors are identified and numerical results for the 3D geometry of an iron core inductor are compared and explanations have been attempted.
