Abstract

Minor faults and folds are exposed in at least five outcrops of Devonian strata along the Mohawk Valley in New York State. The presence of such structures in this region indicates that the northeast corner of the Appalachian Plateau is not completely undeformed. Slip lineations on fault surfaces, and the vergence of folds, suggest that these structures are subtle manifestations of at least two, and possibly three, noncoaxial transport events. -from Authors
