Abstract
A field calibrated soil-water-nitrogen-plant model was used to evaluate the effects of weather, irrigation and fertilizer management on nitrate leaching from corn grown in three sandy soils. The model was also used to identify a best management practice for maintaining acceptable crop production while minimizing nitrate leaching.
