Abstract
During the Lake-Induced Convection Experiment (Lake-ICE), a mesoscale vortex developed along the eastern shore of Lake Michigan. The location of the vortex and its propagation speed and direction allowed the Grand Rapids, MI WSR-88D (KGRR) to observe the well-defined mesoscale vortex in both the radial velocity and reflectivity fields for nearly five hours. This article discusses the performance of the synthetic dual-Doppler analysis technique for this case and the structure and evolution of the mesoscale vortex as determined from the KGRR radar measurements.
