Abstract

This paper addresses the effective display of multi-parameter medical diagnostic data, such as arises in MRI or in multimodality image-fusion. A new decision-theoretic model of the human observer in a visualization task is developed, and used to derive optimal algorithms for the display of a maximally informative fused monochrome image.
