Abstract

We present a new design method for induction motor control which departs from the traditional certainty equivalence approach, in which flux estimates simply replace actual flux measurements in the control algorithm. Instead of separately designing the observer and the controller, the new method interlaces the design of both controller and observer. As a result, the effect of flux observation errors is counteracted and the improvements in both transient performance and power efficiency are significant.
