Abstract
The transitions of H3+ ions above the linearity barrier were investigated by studying the absorption spectrum in the near-infrared region. The observed transitions were found to be 4600 times weaker than the fundamental band, probe energy levels above 10000 cm-1. The incorporation of adiabatic and relativistic corrections revealed the extent of higher-order effects.
