Abstract
We have investigated the dynamics of a distribution of interacting rotons; taking advantage of the roton minimum to specify two unique states. This approach allows us to generate rate equations for the two states and solve for the time evolution of the populations. From these equations we find that the R-population is depleted with respect to the R+ population in roton beams. This is consistent with experimental observation.
