Abstract
A methodology is described for the computer-aided modeling and design of electrochemical process flowsheets using a modification of the public version of ASPEN (Advanced System for Process Engineering). In this study, the design, costing, and economic analysis of the electrochemical production of methyl ethyl ketone is used as an example. Simplified block diagrams of the two flowsheet configurations studied are shown.
