Abstract
Electrochemical systems usually involve several different phenomena simultaneously so that their overall behavior is often difficult to predict on the basis of intuition alone. The fundamentals of such phenomena, however, may have mathematical analogs so that mathematical models may be constructed and used. The purpose of this study is to provide a general overview of how mathematical models are employed in electrochemical research and engineering.
