Abstract

Eveland phase faunal and floral remains were recovered during archaeological investigations at the Tree Row (11F53) and Baker-Preston (11F20) sites in Fulton County, Illinois. While limited in size, these previously unreported assemblages provide important data on Eveland phase subsistence practices in the central Illinois River valley. A broadbased subsistence strategy is demonstrated with evidence for maize horticulture, hunting, fishing, and gathering.
