N2 - This paper describes techniques for the parallelized simulation of circuit-switched communicaticm networks. We discuss implementations based both on conservative synchronization, and optimistic synchronization. Performance results are presented from experiments on 256 processors of the Intel Touchstone Delta, wherein we observe call simulation rates of nearly eight million calls per minute on a realistic network.
