Mid-infrared nonlinear optics in silicon photonic wire waveguides

Abstract

We demonstrate a broadband silicon mid-infrared optical parametric amplifier operating nearλ= 2200 nm. The amplifier exhibits a maximum gain as large as 25 dB, and net off-chip gain greater than 13 dB.
