Micropolar model of trabecular bone

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contribution

Abstract

In this study, an attempt was made to develop a micropolar elastic model of couple-stress type for a trabecular bone represented as a porous two-dimensional periodic material. Several necessary boundary value problems were considered to evaluate micropolar stiffness tensor. Results were compared with the experimentally obtained micropolar constants and characteristic lengths.
