Microdischarge arrays: A new family of UV sources

Abstract

An overview is given on recent progress in the fabrication of micro hollow cathode discharge arrays that can be used as a miniature UV generation source. Deep UV generation from the arrays to excite phosphor is discussed and detailed operational characteristics and applications are introduced.
