Abstract

Water resource data for Africa are scarce and inaccessible. This article outlines the major tasks involved in developing a microcomputer based data base for Africa which would be available to a wide variety of organizations. Such a database would have a significant impact on water resource research, planning, development, and management, and help minimize the impact of frequent droughts.
