Materials progress: 20,000K temperature measured inside single collapsing bubble

Research output: Contribution to journalComment/debatepeer-review

Abstract

The temperature inside a single, acoustically driven collapsing bubble was measured by a spectroscopic technique. The measured temperature, about 20,000K, is four times hotter than the surface of the sun.
