Abstract

The article presents a speech by archivist Christopher J. Prom, delivered at a meeting of the Society of Georgia Archivists held in Morrow, Georgia on November 3, 2011. It discusses digital preservation, with a particular focus on born-digital archival materials. The author draws from his experiences of preserving digital files at the University of Illinois Archives and from a Fullbright research fellowship at the Center for Archive and Information Studies at the University of Dundee.
