Abstract
We study the large-N limit of the Coqblin-Schrieffer model in a nonzero magnetic field at zero temperature. We show that at N= the model exhibits an unphysical singularity in the magnetization curve when the field lifts the degeneracy completely. However, if the spin degeneracy is lifted, leaving a large orbital degeneracy untouched, a smooth Kondo crossover is recovered.
