Abstract

We report on the temperature dependence of the penetration depth of single crystals of Sr2RuO4 (Tc ∼ 1.44 K). We observe a quadratic temperature dependence in the low temperature region down to 40 mK, with no sign of a second phase transition. The result is not consistent with some proposed models of multi-band superconductivity. We discuss the implications of this result with respect to the symmetry of the order parameter in this material.
