Abstract

A study on the structural and thermodynamic properties of mixtures of colloidal spheres and nonadsorbing polymer chains was performed using two-component macromolecular liquid state theory. The phase diagram of colloid-polymer mixtures was constructed using Asakura-Oosawa potential. The dilute limits were compared to field theory and polymer coils with sphere, when one of the components is at infinite dilution.
