Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The coupling between friction (shear) response and volume change of a molecularly thin lubricant film confined between two solid surfaces was experimentally observed. Data from the study were found to be consistent with a simple model of energy balance between a small number of contributing components.
