Low Divergence Triangular Coupled VCSEL Array

Abstract

A low-divergence beam with on-axis maxima can confine more power within a small spot size. The dominant supermode from a triangular VCSEL array with all three lasers in the same phase is found to provide such a narrow-divergence beam, useful for high-brightness applications.
