Abstract

Five bright 12.2-GHz E-methanol masers monitored in 1987 have been reobserved four years later. During this interval, the masers varied internally by less than 15–20 percent, with the exception of single components in two sources. 14 star-forming regions with the brightest 6.6-GHz A+-methanol masers (≥ 100 Jy), but without known 12.2-GHz counterparts, were searched in the 12.2-GHz E-methanol transition, and 10 new masers were detected. These data support the hypothesis that 6.6-GHz A-methanol and 12.2-GHz E-methanol masers are always found together.
