Abstract

X-parameters, a formalism for describing the nonlinear relationship between power waves, has been shown to have a wide array of applications in the modeling of nonlinear devices and systems. In this paper, the polyharmonic distortion model and the latency insertion method (LIM) are combined to generate X-parameters from a time-domain simulation. This technique leverages the speed and convergence advantages of LIM to generate X-parameters, which are defined in the frequency domain. Both small- and large-signal X-parameter results are compared with those generated using harmonic balance.
