Abstract

The magnetic field dependence of the triplet yield of biradicals of the type 2A+-(CH2)n-2D- has been calculated for three different lengths n = 8, 9, and 10 of the linking aliphatic chain. The calculations are based on the solution of the stochastic Liouville equation under the assumption of a "through space" exchange interaction and compare well with experimental observations. We show that the field dependence of the triplet yield is governed by the "spectrum of the exchange interaction".
