Learning to be a Department Head

Abstract

The article discusses about department heads. The one thing from the associate provost's summary of the rules and regulations is that there is a formal mechanism for changing the name of a department. Orientation for new administrators involves reams of handouts you will never read, jargon you will learn to speak, and go-to people you will need to know to survive.
