Abstract

Large angle scattering of 16O by 24,25,26Mg has been observed by measuring the reactions 24,25,26Mg(16O,24,25,26Mg) 16O in the forward direction. Although the cross section magnitudes for 24Mg are 5 to 10 times larger than for 25,26Mg, excitation functions for all three elastic scattering reactions show similar resonance-like gross structure for incident energies between 45 and 59 MeV.
