Abstract

An unusual new cicadellid genus, Kinrentius gen. nov., and two new species, K. bispinosus sp. nov. and K. constrictus sp. nov. from South America, are described, illustrated and placed in the subfamily Deltocephalinae. The tribal placement of Kinrentius is uncertain. Its similarity to members of the Old World subfamily Stegelytrinae is discussed.
