Abstract

A new version of the movie of the SiO masers around the Mira variable TX Cam is presented. Observations were carried out using the Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA) in biweekly and later in weekly intervals, between the 24 th of May 1997 and the 21st of May 2000 with data covering almost two complete stellar cycles. The result is a movie consisting of 73 epochs which is used to study the global properties of the emission in the extended atmosphere of the star, as well as the kinematics of individual components. The existence of shock waves and their contribution to the morphology and the kinematics of the gas is also examined.
