Abstract

A K//a -band gyrotron experiment that uses an electron beam from a compact Febetron pulser is discussed. Operating at 350 keV with a 700 A electron beam, the gyrotron has produced 20 MW ( plus or minus 3 dB) at 8. 5% efficiency at 35 GHz in a TE//6 //2 mode.
