Abstract
In this article we incorporate work rules into models of wage-employment contracts. Under maintained hypotheses about the effect of efficiency enhancing rules on workers' utility functions, we generate positive predictions about ranges of output and earnings over which different rules will be invoked. We also explore the implications of work rules for the existence of underemployment equilibrium and labor hoarding.
