Abstract

The panel/round-table will explore the status of the education of information professionals internationally, with a focus on a review of the status of Library and Information Studies, Information Science, and Information Professional education programs in the U.S., Canada and Australia. Similarities and differences between programs in each country specific to the information professions will be analyzed. The analysis will include a review of the quality assessment of programs, and specific issues related to their success, and concerns about the future of programs in each case. The impact of the iSchool movement will be examined.
