Abstract
Although the microcomputer has significant potential for enhancing farm decisionmaking, implementation of that innovation must occur within the framework of each farm's information system. In this paper the concept of alternative information networks is suggested for industrial stage versus information stage farms. Evidence is presented that suggests that a movement from industrial stage farms is occurring. Implications of such a movement for farm adoption of computers are discussed.
