Abstract

The irradiation induced dewetting of ultrathin Pt films were studied by using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The areal density of Pt was measured by using Rutherford backscattering spectrometry. It was found that the measured velocity was lower with respect to the homogeneous dewetting due to the highly curved nature of the contact line during local melting.
