In-phase bottom-emitting vertical cavity laser arrays

We demonstrate the first clearly in-phase emission and first continuous-wave operation from a bottom-emitting, coherent VCSEL array. A 2x1 array with an antiguided index profile was used, representing a critical step towards coherent, high-brightness arrays.
